How to do a Celtic Cross Tarot Reading
Deal one court card, this is the Significator, or querant - the person asking the question in the reading.
Deal ten more cards, placing them in this pattern.
1. Situation - That covers him. Place the FIRST card on the significator and say: This covers him. it represents the situation affecting the querant.
2. Obstacles - What crosses him. Turn up the SECOND CARD and lay it across the FIRST, saying: This crosses him. It shows the obstacles he is facing.
3. Goal - What crowns him. Turn up the THIRD CARD; place it above the Significator and say: This crowns him. It represents the querants aim or goal.
4. Beliefs - What is beneath him. Turn up the FOURTH CARD; place it below the Significator, and say: This is beneath him. It shows the foundation and the beliefs which the Significator has made his own.
5. Past - What is behind him. Turn up the FIFTH CARD; place it on the side and say: This is behind him. It shows the recent past.
6. Future - What is before him. Turn up the SIXTH CARD; place it on the other side and say: This is before him. It shows the influence that is coming into action and will operate in the near future.
The next four cards are turned up in succession and placed one above the other in a line, on the right hand side of the cross.
7. Self. The SEVENTH CARD , signifies himself--that is, the Significator-and shows his position or attitude in the circumstances.
8. House. The EIGHTH CARD signifies his environment and its effect on his life.

10. Outcome. The TENTH is what will come, the final result of this situation.
