A Tarot Card for Spring Equinox

The Empress radiates vibrant energy that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the Spring Equinox. As the earth awakens from its winter slumber, she embodies fertility, abundance, and nurturing creativity. Just as the equinox heralds longer days and blossoming flowers, the Empress encourages us to embrace renewal and growth in our lives.

Think of her lush gardens overflowing with life, symbolizing the beauty that springs forth when we harness our inner power and connect with nature. This is the season to plant seeds—both literally in your garden and metaphorically in your ambitions and dreams. Allow her energy to guide you in nurturing your ideas, relationships, and creative aspirations.

While the Empress invites you to revel in the joys of sensuality and connection, she also reminds you to cultivate self-love and care. As you celebrate the equinox, take time to honour the beauty around you and within you. Let her enchanting influence inspire you to embrace the warmth of spring and the limitless potential that awaits. 2026 Tarot Reading for the New Year

This reading is for the energy of the new year 2026. If you have been drawn to click on this reading, it is for you.

I am using the Stranger Things Tarot deck I just received for Christmas. It feels perfect for this reading, especially with the strands of Christmas lights as a suit, and the final episode having being released on new years eve, if you are following it.

Stranger Things New Year Tarot

The Stranger Things Tarot Deck

New Year Tarot Reading

This reading is a modified version of the New in Town Reading from the Stranger Things guidebook. I have modified it to In the New Year.

Draw 6 cards:

New Year Tarot Reading

Card 1. What does the deck have to say?

Card 2. Challenge for this new year.

Card 3. Strengths to lean on.

Card 4. Weaknesses.

Card 5. Opportunities for growth.

Card 6. What will be uncovered in the new year.

Cards drawn:

Message - X of Strands

Challenge - X of Spokes

Strength - The Empress

Weakness - IX of Strands

Growth - IX of Spokes

Uncovered - The Tower

New Year Tarot Reading

The overall feeling is that, as we leave behind 2025 we should also leave behind any tendency towards feelings of desperation and trying to fix or solve things, instead placing our focus on our desired outcomes. We can do this by letting go of our fear.

You may have been working in a frantic sort of way using very masculine energy to solve problems. The challenge is to take a time out from this labouring to fix things and instead place your focus on your dreams. Embrace your strengths and skills and joy, to flow gracefully towards your desires. Immense strength lies in the feminine energy of the Empress, and by embracing this, you will stop at nothing to see that everything and everyone is taken care of.

The only thing you really need to overcome is fear. Weakness is almost aways rooted in fear. As difficult as it may be, by facing our fears we will emerge stronger and more resilient. Once these fears have been released we will become open to new opportunities and new horizons that we have previously been unable to see.

By embracing these concepts of letting go of desperation and struggle, moving towards the things we desire, and facing fears that are holding us back. We can expect to witness a Tower event in the New Year. A collapse of outdated systems than no longer work for us, and the opening up of something new, and yet unknown.

Breakdown card by card:

Card 1: What does the deck have to say?

X of Strand - Feeling constricted by things around you. This card suggests you are working hard towards a goal, or have been taking on a lot of work. You may be feeling overwhelmed or overburdened, take a break and some time to regain your balance.

Card 2: Challenge for this new year.

X of Spokes - The party at it’s best. This card represents completion, accomplishments and wholeness. Your challenge in the new year is taking time to reflect gratefully on your accomplishments and what you have, and to share your joy with those around you.

Card 3: Strengths to lean on.

The Empress - Nothing is more powerful than a mothers love. The strength you can lean on is your own nurturing ability. Take care of yourself as you care for others. You have the ability to protect yourself your family and those around you.

Card 4: Weaknesses.

IX of Strands - Don’t allow challenges to get you down. Keep your head in the game when facing obstacles, each time you prevail you will emerge stronger, wiser and more resilient. Think of each difficulty as an opportunity for growth.

Card 5: Opportunities for growth.

IX of Spokes - Sweet anticipation. Remember the lesson of letting go, allowing space for new growth and opportunities. Something better is on its way, the thing you have been waiting for. Reward yourself for your hard work and dedication to your goal.

Card 6: Will be uncovered in the new year.

The Tower - Some forces can not be contained. If it feels like things are falling apart, just remember that the collapse of the old is required to create space for change.

After all, if the Demogorgon hadn’t entered our world, how would the Party have become heroes? Instead of fearing the unknown, embrace the change and welcome the chance to grow.
— Stranger Things Tarot Deck Guidebook

Numerology of this New Year Tarot reading - An interesting pattern is created by the cards:

new year tarot reading

10 of Strands and Spokes followed by a Major arcana, the Empress,

9 of Strands and Spokes followed by a Major arcana, the Tower.

Looking at the numerology of this, 10 distils to 1 and represents new beginnings, independence, leadership and the seed of potential manifesting into action, while 9 embodies completion, humanitarianism, wisdom gained from endings and the ideal of universal compassion.

In Tarot, the Ten cards signify culmination of a cycle, how very fitting for the end of the year, often material outcomes, burdens or fulfilment. This end of year energy leads us into the abundant new energy represented by the Empress.

The Nine cards point to near-completion states: (something we are about to achieve) reflection, mastery, solitude for clarity, spiritual attainment or the final lessons before resolution. After this completion, we will be seeing the upheaval of the old and emergence of the new (The Tower)

Happy New Year from Daily Tarot Draw. 🍾🎉

Winter Solstice Tarot

The Winter Solstice is a quiet hinge between the seasons. It marks the arrival of the longest night, which gives way to the slow return of light.
This moment invites inward tending, from stillness and reflection — into renewed purpose.

Winter Solstice and tarot

A Tarot reading for the winter solstice.

I’ve done a quick Tarot reading for the winter solstice, using the Heaven and Earth Tarot deck by Jack Sephiroth.

The cards have been drawn with the intention of addressing any collective worry around security at this time.
The question asked is “What energy can we embrace in this period of rest, in order to access the flow of abundance moving into the new year?”

Winter Solstice 3‑Card Tarot Reading

Card 1 — The Magician

The Magician speaks of channeling your internal will and manifesting your desires.
His message: You already have everything you need. You just need to be willing to take inspired action.
The Magician lights up the workshop of the self — will, tools, focus. This card says: stop waiting for external permission. Your ideas, intentions, and actions all line up right now. Conjure with clarity — set a concrete aim, gather your tools (skill, resources, attention), and begin.

Small, decisive acts will carry the potency of ritual.

Card 2 — Ace of Cups

The Ace of Cups sends a flow of loving energy.

This is a feeling, the feeling of heart-mind coherence that fills your being to overflowing with joy and gratitude and compassion. A wellspring of love that is enough for yourself and to share with others.

The Ace of Cups pours in gratitude, self‑compassion, and an openness to receive emotional nourishment. Let your heart be a receptive vessel: celebrate quiet joys, give yourself the kindness you’d offer a friend, and allow tenderness to refill your reserves. This compassion lubricates your manifesting engine.

Gratitude expands what you already have and invites more.

Card 3 — Strength

Great Strength can be yours if you can learn to harness the raw power of your emotions.

There is great power in our emotions and desires. The trick is simply learning when to be patient and use constraint, and when to unleash this raw and powerful energy.
Strength is not brute force; it’s masterful restraint and the courage to feel without reacting. You’re asked to meet passion with patience, to hold and direct heat rather than scorch with it. Use your inner calm to steer powerful emotions into steady action. Softness and firmness together become your greatest leverage.

The winter solstice supports deliberate beginnings and quietly powerful transformations. Trust this quiet power. Transformation needn’t be dramatic to be profound. Gentle persistence, a reoriented heart, and patient attention will rearrange your life more durably than panic or spectacle.

Winter Solstice 3‑Card Tarot

You can achieve a lasting sense of security by using willpower, gratitude and strength to manifest your physical needs into reality.
This winter solstice reading points to the following recipe:

Focus your intention, let gratitude widen your capacity to receive, and govern your emotions with gentle authority.

Together they create practical, grounded manifestation — meeting physical needs and wishes by aligning desire, heart, and determined self‑command. Begin with a clear aim, nurture it with appreciation, and steer your energy with composed courage.

The Winter Solstice and Tarot

The Winter Solstice Tarot

The winter solstice arrives as the year's deepest inhale.

This is the moment when nights are longest and the sun lingers at its lowest arc before beginning its slow, comforting climb back toward light; it is a time steeped in ritual and wonder, when many cultures celebrate rebirth, reflection and the promise of renewal through gatherings, fires, feasts, and festivities.

Beyond the celebrations, this is also a time of quiet observances. The winter Solstice also invites us to turn inward, honour darkness as part of the cycle, and plant seeds of intention as the return of the sun nudges the world — and our spirits — toward warmth and growth.

The longest night invites a reset. Darkness encourages you to go inward — to set intentions not with fireworks but with careful breaths, soft ink and clear boundaries.

  • Seed your plans in shadow. What you cultivate now doesn’t demand immediate visibility. Small, steady actions taken in private will grow with surprising momentum when light returns.

  • Honour endings to make room. Let go of habits, people or projects that have run their course. A tidy release is the most potent fertilizer for new growth.

  • Embrace ritual over rush. Candle, journal, a single stone in your pocket — simple rites anchor your will and make subtle shifts feel real.

Ritual suggestions for the winter solstice:

  • Light a candle, sit for five minutes, breathe, and ask: "What needs to fall away? What is asking for my attention? What small hope can I steward?" Let answers come without judgment.

  • Write one sentence for each position: “I release…,” “I nurture…,” “I will move forward by…”

  • Keep the notes by a window or on your altar through the Solstice to anchor the shift.

Winter Solstice Tarot Spread

Do your own reading for the Winter Solstice:

  • Shuffle the deck with the intention of closing one chapter and welcoming the next.

  • Lay three cards left to right.

  • Reflect on each position, noting what feels complete, what needs warmth, and what energy will guide you as daylight grows.

Winter Solstice Tarot Spread

Card 1 — What to release (let go as the year turns)

Draw one card for what’s ending in your life right now.

Action: Give yourself permission to stop controlling outcomes. Small, steady dismantling works better now than dramatic gestures.

Card 2 — What to nurture (what to carry forward into the light)

Draw one card for what’s receiving light. This is the energy you wish to grow and carry forward through the upcoming year.

Action: Create a simple ritual of silence or journaling at dawn or dusk. Note recurring symbols or feelings.

Card 3 — Guiding energy for the new season (how to move into the coming cycle)

This card is for emergent opportunities, these are things that will assist you moving forward into the light.

Action: Plant a tiny seed (literal or metaphorical). Make one hopeful intention for the coming cycle and tend it weekly.

May this spread help you close with warmth and begin with wonder.

Example reading with brief interpretations.

  1. The Tower (reversed) — The Winter Solstice marks the darkest point before light returns. With The Tower reversed, endings this season are more internal than explosive. You're shedding old structures and beliefs quietly — relief and slow rebuilding rather than dramatic collapse. Let go of what’s brittle; you’re moving through necessary clearing even if it feels awkward or uncertain

  2. The High Priestess — On the longest night, intuition is your lantern. The High Priestess sits at the center of this reading: inner knowing, dreams, and subtle messages are especially accessible. Pay attention to dreams, synchronicities, and the wisdom that rises from stillness.

  3. The Star — As we move toward lengthening days, The Star brings hope and gentle renewal. This card promises that faith and healing are available if you remain open. Small acts of care — for yourself and others — will re-illuminate your path.

the star

Summary This Winter Solstice invites quiet unmaking (Tower reversed), deep inner listening (High Priestess), and a gentle, hopeful rebirth (The Star). Keep your rituals simple, trust subtle nudges, and nourish one small intention into the returning light.

Tarot Alchemy
Tarot Alchemy

The suit of Wands represent the idea of alchemy - ideas, energy, transformation.

Alchemy is the art of transformation—both of materials and of the self.

Alchemy is a mystical practice dating back thousands of years, where ancient seekers aimed to turn base metals into gold, discover the elixir of life, and unlock hidden wisdom. More than just chemistry, alchemy is also a symbolic journey, a dance between spirit and matter, light and shadow.

It’s about finding magic in the mundane and seeing potential for change everywhere—much like how each Tarot card holds the power to shift perspectives and reveal new paths.

In Tarot, alchemy is the process of turning challenges into growth, confusion into clarity, and everyday moments into golden insights.

Here’s a spread to use for accessing your own power of creation.

Alchemy Tarot Spread

This spread helps you turn your experiences into opportunities. Tap into the elements to ignite transformation. Choose a card deck that feels earthy or transformative. For this reading I have chosen The Unveiled Tarot by Jesse Lonergan

Alchemy Tarot Spread

Draw 5 cards and lay them out like this

How to Use It

Shuffle your deck focusing on the question: “How can I transform my experiences into my gold?”

Lay out 5 cards in a line. You can place them in order you have drawn them or decide which card best fits each slot, whatever sparks your magic.

These 5 Cards represent your Elements of Transformation

Card 1. Lead (Current Challenge)

What heavy weight or obstacle do you need to recognize?
This card reveals the "base metal" in your life begging for transformation.

Card 2. Salt (Grounding)

What keeps you stable and anchored?
Salt symbolizes your foundation—what you stand on while you’re evolving.

Card 3. Sulfur (Passion & Drive)

What sparks your fire?
This card keynotes your inner flame, the energy that fuels your transformation journey.

Card 4. Mercury (Flexibility & Change)

How can you flow and adapt?
Mercury is fluid and quicksilver—this card shows where you need to embrace change.

Card 5. Gold (The Outcome / Transformation)

What golden result awaits when the alchemy is complete?
The final card reveals the pure gold of your efforts.

Reflect on how each element interacts. Where does your Lead turn into Gold? What lights your fire? What’s blocking the flow of Mercury?

Tarot Spread for Alchemy

Here is a sample reading I have drawn for myself.

Card 1 is the Three of Wands which reflects my current path. Trying to figure out a financial hurdle, what to do? How to stay focussed in working towards growing my Tarot business and achieving my technical goals.

Card 2 is the Queen of Pentacles - the earth mother, reminding my to spend time in nature and stay grounded in the physical world to maintain my health and prosperity.

Card 3 is the Ace of Wands, just looking at this card fires up my ideas, and inspiration. It send me a message to keep the flame burning that I have lit and to keep following my passion and joy.

The 4th card is the Wheel of Fortune, a reminder that unseen elements will always influence my journey in ways I can not predict. This one suggests to stay flexible in the face of changes, open to new ideas. All the Tarot Animals have come together on this card. They are all at the table. playing together. Reading this one to suggest I should always incorporate different elements together, never knowing which one will win.

Card 5 is the Two of Wands as the outcome or transformation, This one feels exciting, showing two doors, each holding an unknown prize. because sometimes the outcome is a surprise. One that may be even better than can be imagined. So keep open to new horizons and possibilities that arise.

I love how this reading has come full circle, the last card leading me right back the beginning of the spread (Three of Wands)

Why We Love This Spread

The Alchemy Tarot Spread combines symbolism, psychology, and mystery—all the stuff that makes Tarot magic. It encourages you to see your struggles and passions as vital ingredients in your personal transformation recipe. Plus, it’s super fun to imagine yourself as a mystical alchemist, turning the ordinary into extraordinary.

What is Alchemy?

Alchemy is an ancient practice that blends elements of science, philosophy, and mysticism. It is traditionally known for its goal of transforming base metals into noble ones like gold, but it also symbolizes personal and spiritual transformation. Practitioners of alchemy sought not only material wealth but the deeper quest for enlightenment and the secrets of life itself. This tradition bridges the gap between the physical world and the metaphysical, offering rich symbolism and insights.

Tarot Cards for Alchemy

The Magician

The Magician is the alchemist of the tarot deck, weaving together the elements of earth, air, fire, and water with a playful flick of his wand. He’s the master of manifestation, reminding you that the power to create magic lies within your hands. When The Magician appears, it’s a call to channel your skills, focus your intentions, and transform ideas into reality.

On his table, you’ll spot the four Tarot symbols representing the classical elements:

  • 🜃 Earth: Stability, practicality, and material matters.

  • 🜁 Air: Intellect, communication, and ideas.

  • 🜂 Fire: Action, energy, and passion.

  • 🜄 Water: Emotion, intuition, and flow.

These symbols correspond to the tools the Magician wields—cup, wand, sword, and pentacle—and suggest his mastery over all elements. He holds the power of transformation and creation, and the ability to channel universal energies to manifest dreams into reality.

With his gesture the Magician reminds us that what we seek to create in the world is an inspiration that comes from the Higher Self. He is a visual expression of his axiom but it might be more correct to change it to, “as above, do below.” He represents skill—both physical and verbal. He is agile, athletic, eloquent, and confident. He is a messenger of the divine but also a trickster. Alchemically, he represents the initial unity of the elements with the spirit hidden inside.
— Robert M Place - The Alchemical Tarot

Wands - Alchemizing the Fire Within

The suit of Wands is the blazing heart of the Tarot deck, embodying pure, alchemical fire. This fiery energy represents the spark of creation—thoughts, ideas, and emotional passion—all waiting to be harnessed and transformed.

Wands invite you to tap into your inner flame, where inspiration flickers and motivation burns bright. They urge you to take that first step, to fan your ambitions into a roaring blaze of action.

Imagine your mind as a crucible where raw thoughts become powerful forces, fueled not just by logic, but by the emotional heat of your desires and dreams.
When you draw a wand card, think of it as your call to ignite the creative furnace. It’s about harnessing scattered energy into focused intention. Whether that means brainstorming new ideas, lighting a fire under a stalled project, or connecting deeply with your passions, Wands push you to become the master of your own fiery element.

Wands from the Tarot of Curious Creatures deck

Harness this energy wisely.

At times events in our lives can stir up the fire within, causing anger or frustration to rise. Alchemizing this energy into a chosen direction can fuel positive growth and energized us to tackle challenges that may otherwise seem daunting or overwhelming.

Passion without direction can burn out fast, but a well-tended flame can illuminate new paths, warm your spirit, and forge your unique destiny. The suit of Wands reminds you that your thoughts and emotions are powerful catalysts—when aligned, they alchemize the fire inside you into unstoppable momentum.

Alchemy symbols on tarot cards add a rich layer of meaning that ties the mystical art of tarot to the ancient wisdom of transformation and creation. They are visual cues that deepen your understanding of the card’s energy and message.

The Wheel of Fortune

The Wheel of Fortune card displays the sigils of sulphur, mercury, and salt nestled within its inner circle. These three symbols represent the primary substances—think of them as the cosmic bricks—from which the universe builds all matter. also included is the sigil for water, completing the 4 elements.

  • Sulphur stands for the fiery, active essence—the spark that ignites passion and drives action. It’s the blazing energy urging you forward.

  • Mercury embodies fluidity and transformation, like a shimmering river flowing through the landscape of your mind. It’s the quicksilver messenger, bridging gaps and opening portals to new possibilities, helping you shift gears when change is the only constant.

  • Salt anchors things with its stabilizing power. It’s the grounding force, the pinch of reality that keeps dreams from floating away like dandelion seeds. Salt preserves wisdom, balances the elements within, and ensures your fiery passions and transformative insights have a solid foundation to grow.

  • Water is the solvent of life, the emotional ocean where all elements mingle. It cleanses, nurtures, and connects, flowing effortlessly between states—liquid, ice, steam—mirroring our own waves of feelings and intuition.

Wheel of fortune alchemy

Together, Sulphur’s fire, Mercury’s adaptability, Salt’s steadiness, and Water’s fluidity create a beautifully balanced dance of energies. A mystical recipe that fuels cycles of change, transformation, and evolution symbolized by the ever-turning Wheel of Fortune. So, when this card shows up in your reading, prepare for a cosmic spin where forces of creation and transformation are at play—alchemy in motion!

Using these alchemy symbols in reading tarot invites you to connect not only with the card’s immediate meaning but also with the ancient cycle of transformation that underpins the universe and your personal growth. So, the next time you see these shapes on your cards, think of the magic happening beneath the surface—alchemy in action!

Using Tarot for Manifestation
Using Tarot for Manifestation

Tarot can be an ideal tool to use for manifesting your dreams into reality. Here’s how.

Manifesting Tarot Spread

Things you will need for this exercise:

  • A Tarot or Oracle deck that strongly resonates with you.

  • Pick one that feels really joyful, positive and light, or one that makes you feel a bit expansive or strong and powerful!

  • A quiet place to focus on your intentions.

  • A journal or notebook for writing down your desired outcome or goal.

The first step to take is creative visualization.

Tarot for Manifesting

Clearly identify what it is you want to manifest. Now write it down. Spend a few minutes visualizing yourself living the desired outcome.
Notice how it makes you feel. By simply imaging your goal and placing your focus on it, you are taking the first step to achieving your dream.

Manifest your Desired Life Tarot Spread:

Get out your Tarot deck and draw 5 cards.

These will represent the path you take for manifesting your desired life and the guides who will help you get there.

Flip over your cards and place them in a row.

Choose one of the cards as your light card.

The light card should be the most positive one you have drawn. It is simply a card that makes you feel inspired to move forward, full of love or grateful for something in your life now. Take a minute to steep yourself in the emotions of this card in relation to your dreams and desires. Allow yourself to be swept away by joy and gratitude.

Tarot for Manifesting your dreams

I am using the Cosmic Slumber Tarot, I chose the Star and Ten of Swords as my light and shadow cards.

Choose one of the cards as your shadow card.

This is a card that represents the darkness that holds you back from moving towards your desired life. It should remind you of the “I can’ts.” Those nagging thoughts that say its too hard, or I don’t deserve this, or I don’t know how. Now take a minute to imagine yourself gathering those limiting beliefs up and blowing them away in the wind. 💨

Now the remaining 3 Tarot cards are your guiding forces. Think of them as spirit guides, who have a message to tell you in relation to achieving your desired life. They may bring hope, ideas or inspiration to your reading. For example:

If you draw The Star you may feel inspired.
This card shines with hope and inspiration. It encourages you to keep faith in your dreams and trust that the universe is aligning in your favor. The Star reminds you that healing and renewal are on the horizon—believe in your inner light and let it guide you forward.

If you draw The Emperor you may be feel strong and empowered.
Prepare to embrace a strong sense of authority and control in your life. This powerful figure symbolizes stability, structure, and leadership, encouraging you to take charge with confidence and wisdom.

If you draw The Chariot you may feel a strong desire to take action towards your dreams.
Powerful and determined, The Chariot urges you to take control of your path. Success comes through focus, discipline, and confident action. Harness your will, overcome obstacles, and charge ahead knowing that your desire for achievement fuels your journey.

If you draw The Empress you may feel the nurturing force of abundance surrounding you
Fertility, creativity, and abundance flow from The Empress. She advises nurturing your ideas and relationships, tending to yourself with kindness and care. Growth is inevitable when you create space for your dreams to blossom—embrace your creative energy and watch your ideal life unfold.

These are my guides along the way. The Empress, The High Priestess and The Hierophant.

The Empress reminds me there is abundance all around. The High Priestess whispers “follow your intuition to find the way”
The Hierophant suggests that I seek out teachers or guides to learn from, or follow the path that others have taken.

Your spirited guides may tell a story of hope, action, or nurturing. Follow their wisdom and step boldly towards the life you desire.

This takes us to the Most Important Part: Taking Inspired Action!

If you find yourself feeling inspired by any part of this exercise, the most important thing to do is Take Action Now.
Taking inspired action is the thing that will propel you forward and line up your actions with the Universe.

If an idea strikes you, follow it. If you suddenly feel an urge to work on a project, go for it. Do it now while the motivation is strong. Let yourself be carried along by passion and inspiration.

Tip: If you have an idea of what you want to do, but don’t know how, just model the success of others.
Choose someone who has already achieved what you want to do, and copy the actions they took. You don’t have to make everything up yourself, someone else has has already done it, so learn by their example to create your own successful path.

Employ the Law of Attraction

The more time you spend focusing on your goal, the more you align your thoughts and energy with the Universe’s frequency. Using the Law of Attraction isn’t just wishful thinking—it’s about consistently envisioning what you want as if it’s already yours. Picture your goal vividly in your mind’s eye, feel the emotions of accomplishing it, and maintain unwavering belief. The Universe loves clarity and commitment. So, keep your focus sharp, your mindset positive, and watch opportunities and synchronicities start to flow your way like magic.

Remember: what you focus on expands!
