Five of Pentacles

Tarot Card of the Day: Five of Pentacles

Deck used: Radiant Wise Spirit

Today, the Five of Pentacles emerges, offering us insight into the hardships and challenges we may encounter. The Five of Pentacles depicts two individuals walking through a cold and snowy landscape. These individuals appear downtrodden and impoverished, with tattered clothing and a sense of despair. They seem excluded from the warmth and comfort of a nearby illuminated church window, symbolizing a sense of isolation and exclusion.

Card Meaning: This card signifies a period of difficulty, both material and emotional. It suggests a sense of loss, whether it be financial struggles, illness, or emotional separation. It serves as a reminder that life is not always smooth sailing, and there are times when we feel left out in the cold, both physically and metaphorically. It also reminds us that help is usually available, but only if we are willing to seek it out, and remain open to receiving it.

The Five of Pentacles advises us to acknowledge and confront our struggles instead of turning a blind eye. It is crucial to remain aware of our own limitations and seek assistance if necessary. Although the road may seem treacherous, there is solace in knowing that help is available, even if it comes from unexpected sources.

This card also reminds us of the importance of compassion and reaching out to those in need. It serves as a call to recognize the struggles of others who may feel abandoned or without support. Sometimes, we may be the guiding light that can offer solace and comfort to those experiencing hardship.

In its reversed position, the Five of Pentacles suggests that a difficult period is coming to an end. This reversal indicates that the bleakness we have been experiencing will pass, and better times are on the horizon. It encourages us to shift our perspective, to focus on gratitude and the opportunities that arise from our challenges.

Overall, the Five of Pentacles serves as a reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is hope. It urges us to find strength within ourselves, seek support when needed, and embrace the kindness of others. By doing so, we can navigate through difficult times and emerge stronger on the other side.

Strength

Tarot Card of The Day: Strength

Deck used: Radiant Wise Spirit

The Strength card has a strong message for me today, as well as for anyone else who may be reading this. This one feels literal and visceral. I can feel my hands on the jaw of the lion. Holding strong.

Take a moment to consider how the Strength card fits into your experience. Is there something you need to do that is testing your strength? Physically, mentally, emotionally? Strength asks the question, “how can you navigate this situation with grace and ease?” What strengths do you embody, which you can use to your advantage in working towards achieving your goals?

Strength is one of my favorite cards for two reasons, one is the theme of it, finding inner strength, figuring out a way to gracefully navigating life’s challenges with ease. The second reason I love this card, (The RWS version) is the beautiful imagery. I feel that Pamela really outdid herself on this beautiful illustration. The lines are so elegant, the feeling of strength is portrayed so delicately. This is a kind and gentle strength. A feminine strength, growing from wisdom and fortitude and perseverance, not through violence or brute force.

This card is so visceral. When I look at it, I feel myself in the image. I feel the jaws of the lion. Anyone with a dog may relate to this physical struggle with a beast, that cannot be won through physical force. What needs to be applied is calm. Sharing your calm with the beast. Soothing a difficult situation.

It sends a message to me about ease. That life is not a struggle. It’s not meant to be a struggle. If life feels like a struggle then its time to step back and reconsider our actions, our thoughts, our beliefs, our situation. And find a way through challenges that feels empowering and victorious. Rather than like hardship, difficulty, defeat or despair. Sometimes this can be achieved through simply practicing gratitude or by re-framing the situation.

Today, I see The Lion as a wild opposing force that needs to be tamed. And myself as the lion tamer. I will embody the essence of the strength card and navigate this wild beast with grace and ease. Because I can. If I am willing to see a way. Instead of focusing on the challenge, or the difficulty, or letting myself slip into unproductive thoughts that will derail me from my goal. I will allow myself to find a positive way through. You can too.

You can visit the previous post on Strength if you are interested in a more general and traditional reading of the card.

And as always, Have a Beautiful Day.

Today, take a moment to connect with the energy of the Strength card. Meditate on the image of the woman and the lion, embodying the harmony of strength and gentleness. Allow this archetype to infuse your spirit with the confidence and resilience needed to navigate life's challenges.
