Tarot Card of The Day

The Lovers
The Lovers - Curious Creatures

Tarot Card of the Day The Lovers

Today’s card was drawn from the Tarot of Curious Creatures deck by Chris Anne

The Lovers card refers to relationships, and to choices. The first impression that usually comes up when this card is drawn is that it must be revealing a something about a relationship with a partner, a lover, husband wife, or dating prospect. The message often overlooked is the one about choices. The Lovers refers to making good choices. Wise choices. Choices that align fully with our chosen paths, our desires and our best interests.

Today the Lovers is asking questions regarding relationships. It’s asking you to asses whether your current relationship, or romantic pursuit is adding to your experience. It also asks you to consider if your current relationship is a life-long bond, or simply one chapter in a bigger story.

This isn’t a demand to abandon your partner or to break everything off on principle. Think of it more like taking a time out for a breath of air and a gentle audit. Consider where your resources are flowing, and what return are you actually getting? The Lovers invites you to pause long enough to measure value, not merely habit, or fear of being alone.

Truly birds of a feather, we Lovebirds create a lifelong bond. We choose us for the journey. How do you feel about choosing your partners? Are you here for the long haul? Or just growing and learning from one another for now? What stops you from choosing to fall in love?

The Lovers Tarot Card Meaning

Keywords: love, union, choices, alignment, values

Overview The Lovers card centers on meaningful connections and the choices that create or define them. While it most commonly signals romantic relationships, its scope includes deep friendships, partnerships, and any union that calls for mutual trust and shared values. At its heart, The Lovers asks, “Are you acting from the heart and in harmony with your true self?”

Love & Partnership. A powerful, soulful connection with another person. A mutual attraction, in harmony with one another, and partnership that encourages growth.

Choices & Commitment. A pivotal decision to be made about relationships, career, or moral direction. The choice often involves weighing long-term values over short-term desire.

Two figures, Adam and Eve, stand beneath an angel, suggesting divine blessing or the moral weight of decisions The presence of the Tree of Knowledge and the burning bush behind them suggests temptation and spiritual growth. The sun shining above signals clarity, vitality and the life-affirming energy of love, while the mountain in the background hints at challenges that deepen commitment.

The mirrored figures and paired imagery emphasise balance, the integration of opposites (masculine/feminine, conscious/unconscious) and the need for authentic alignment between desire and higher values, making the card as much about ethical choice and personal integrity as about romance.

Ten of Swords

Tarot Card of the Day - The Ten of Swords

Ten of Swords Sci-fi-Tarot

The Ten of Swords from Todd Alcott's Sci-Fi Tarot

Today’s card is drawn from the Sci-Fi Tarot by The Unemployed Philosophers Guild

The Ten of Swords is perhaps the most frightening card in the deck. It implies some sort of metaphorical death. This is not a peaceful death, but one that is violent and shocking. This card most likely brings up emotions that are less than pleasant, and maybe even a bit traumatizing, but it holds a silver lining.

The message coming through this card is to embrace this ending. Not to embrace literal death, but to embrace the end of something that feels like death. Accepting your fate, or undesirable situation, can signal the end of your suffering, the end of negative thinking, the end of looping in spirals of your own trauma. All you need to do is discover a new way of seeing your situation, a rebirth of sorts, and to understand that it is up to you alone. No one is coming to save you!

You must find a way to lift yourself out of your agony and find joy beyond the pain.

The underlying message in this card is that recovery is not only possible, but inevitable. Relief is waiting around the corner whenever you are ready and willing to seek it out, and personal growth is the undeniable outcome once you embrace that you have finally hit some sort of rock bottom, and decide to go the only way left. Up.

It is interesting to note that the tarot has a card called Death, but Death does not necessarily mean death, while the Ten of Swords does actually mean death, and is one of the few tarot cards, like The Tower, that truly means bad news for the querent. While the Ten of Swords may not call for an actual death, it is certainly the death of a cherished or important idea, or the death of a way of life, or perhaps even a closing of the mind.

Guidance from the Ten of Swords

Name your emotions and give them space, this is often the first step toward regeneration.

Stop blaming and take back your power. Accept and release the things you can’t control. Ten of Swords highlights that while damage has been done, blaming yourself or others endlessly won’t fix anything.

Seek healing and support by reaching out to friends, a counsellor, or a healer to process what happened and to find practical steps for recovery. Focus on self-care, sleep, nourishment, routine. Rebuilding starts with stabilising your foundation.

Release what’s finished. Rituals of letting go such as journaling, symbolic burning, or a physical clearing can help mark this transition and free energy for new beginnings. Affirmation “This is the end of pain. I grieve, I heal, and I step into a new morning.”

The worst is over, now healing can begin.

When the 10 of Swords appears in a reading

  • In work/career: A job loss, project failure, or professional betrayal. Although devastating, it clears the way for new directions.

Tarot Card of the Day: The Hierophant
The Hierophant - Papa

Today’s Tarot card is Papa (The Hierophant)

Drawn from the Mystical Women’s Tarot A Deck of Fearless Femmes

This card represents wisdom or knowledge which is handed down from one generation to the next, or from teacher to student. It suggests that you may be holding knowledge which could be of use to others. You may find value in imparting your wisdom upon others. You may alternatively benefit from knowledge, that is shared with you.

There is great power that comes through knowledge and wisdom and this card asks you to consider your path carefully, to insure you are using this power in ways that will be of benefit, and not of harm. The Hierophant in Mystical Women's Tarot is represented by a Grimoire, the witch's book of spells. Every wise witch understands that each spell or potion can be a healing cure, or a poison, depending on how it is used.

Decide carefully when to impart your wisdom, and upon who. Also, when to accept knowledge from another. When you come across a fellow seeker who is yearning for answers you hold, first discern their motive before acting, to insure the usefulness of the transaction and to avoiding wasting your time, by offering advice that may ultimately fall upon deaf ears.

The colors in this card are red and purple. They represent power, magic, fire and energy. Fire can burn you, or take you far depending on how you use it.

The Hierophant is card number 5.

On the Papa card, the grimoire is depicted with a pentagram on the cover. The 5 points on the pentagram symbolize spirit, earth, air, fire and water. Spirit is the upward point representing the animating, unifying principle that connects the material to the divine. Earth is one of the lower points, it symbolizes grounding, stability, physicality, and the body. Air is the intellect, communication, thought, and the breath of ideas. Fire is our will or desire, is is the driving force behind action, transformation, and creativity. Water is emotion, intuition, and receptivity, it is the flow of feeling that moves us though our experiences in life. Together they form a balance. With spirit governing and harmonizing the four classical elements of the material world.

The Hierophant Card represents knowledge handed down.

The Hierophant

Keywords: tradition, mentorship, institution, ritual, moral guidance, handed-down wisdom.

When the Hierophant appears, think of it as a wise grandparent, a trusted teacher, or a long standing tradition. This card is about transmission of power. It symbolizes the passing of beliefs, rituals, systems and sacred wisdom from one generation to the next. It honours structured learning, formal guidance, and the stabilising power of shared customs.

In the Upright position this card is all about tradition, structure and education. The Hierophant encourages you to lean into established practices that provide a reliable framework. It suggests embracing mentorship or teaching. Seek out a guide, or step into the role of teacher yourself to pass on what you know.

The Hierophant also represents spiritual or institutional wisdom. Religious, cultural, or academic institutions such as churches offer lessons and bring legitimacy to spiritual practices. Conformity holds value, when belonging to a group provides support and moral direction.

The Hierophant reversed suggests questioning orthodoxy. Challenge inherited beliefs that no longer fit your path. A new way of looking at things may be needed. Beware of rigid rules or dogmatic authority that stifles your growth and individual truth. Beware of becoming isolated through rejection of communal guidance. Taken to an extreme, this can lead to confusion or radical freedom.

Practical guidance from the Hierophant:

Students - Respect the structure but ask thoughtful questions; integrating foundation and curiosity serves you best.

Teachers - Be generous with what you know, but encourage students to find their own inner voice.

Seek out wisdom from your own spiritual guides.

Light a candle and place a book or object that represents your lineage or learning beside it. Whisper one question you’d like ancestral or institutional wisdom to answer, then sit quietly for five minutes to listen for impressions or recurring ideas.
